McGill Integrated Program in Neuroscience and Neuro Studentship Awards

IPN awards studentships through a competitive grants process.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Please fill out your name and the name of your referees in the "apply" section. Please note that one of your referees should be your supervisor, with the other two being from faculty members in any University. Each referee will receive an email instructing them to create a PDF and upload their letter of recommendation to the link provided to them. You will also receive a link to upload your application and transcripts (unofficial undergraduate and graduate).
  2. Save this application ( New form 2024 ) and transcripts in a single PDF file with the file name:
    “Application_Last Name(s)_First Name(s)." You will receive updates as your referees upload their documents, and the application becomes complete.

Applicants are responsible for ensuring that their applications are complete. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed by the Awards Committee. The deadline for students to submit applications will be on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 5:00pm ET
(Please make sure to start uploading your application well in advance of 5:00 p.m.)

Please note: if you've made a mistake, or if your referee is non-responsive, you can use the link emailed to you to change out your referee's contact information.
If you receive external funding after you have already applied, please contact our office (administrator.ipn@mcgill.ca) to let us know.


Timeline

  • The competition will open Friday, May 24, 2024, at 5:00pm ET
  • The deadline for students to submit applications will be on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 5:00pm ET
  • The winners will be announced the last week of August, 2024.

Awards and Studentships

  • IPN Internal Student Award provides $15,000 stipend support for one year to IPN Masters or Doctoral students.
  • Jeanne Timmins Costello Studentship provides $10,000 stipend support to Neuro graduate students (masters or doctoral level) at The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital) to proceed with their research or to further their knowledge and research experience in the field of neurological diseases.
  • Sophia Vorias Memorial Prize
    Established in 2024 by family and friends in loving memory of Sophia Vorias, this provides $2,225 support awarded by the IPN Awards Committee on the basis of academic excellence in Neurology or Neuroscience to any graduate student working at The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital) or in IPN enrolled in a full-time degree program.
  • Harold and Audrey Fisher Brain Tumour Training Studentship provides $10,000 stipend support to two (2) graduate students (masters or doctoral level) conducting research directly related to brain tumours at The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital).
  • Christian Geada Brain Tumour Research Studentship provides $10,000 stipend support to a graduate student (masters or doctoral level) conducting research directly related to brain tumours at The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital).
  • C. Nance Common Neuroscience Award provides $400 to support doctoral students pursuing careers in neuroscience at The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital).
  • Joan and Warren Chippindale Outstanding Student Award awards $1,500 to recognize and award the highest-ranked graduate (masters or doctoral level) students at The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital).
  • Molson Neuro-Engineering Studentship provides $10,000 stipend support to support graduate students (masters or doctoral level) who are pursuing high-level work in neuroengineering at The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital).
  • Massabky Mary Foundation provides $400 stipend support for a graduate student from the middle east working at The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital).
