McGill Integrated Program in Neuroscience and Neuro Studentship Awards

IPN awards studentships through a competitive grants process.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In the apply section, please fill out your name and the name of your referees. It is recommended, but not mandatory, that one of your referees be your supervisor. Your referees will receive an email instructing them to create a PDF and upload their letter of recommendation to the link provided to them. You will also receive a link to upload your application and transcripts (undergraduate and graduate).
  2. Save this application ( New form 2023 ) and transcripts in a single PDF file with the file name:
    “Application_Last Name(s)_First Name(s)." You will receive updates as your referees upload their documents, and the application becomes complete.

Applicants are responsible for ensuring that their applications are complete. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed by the Awards Committee. The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m., June 30, 2023.

Please note: if you've made a mistake, or if your referee is non-responsive, you can use the link emailed to you to change out your referee's contact information.
If you receive external funding after you have already applied, please contact our office (administrator.ipn@mcgill.ca) to let us know.


Timeline

  • The competition will open at 5 p.m. on May 22, 2023.
  • The winners will be announced the last week of August, 2023.

Awards and Studentships

  • IPN Internal Student Award provides $15,000 stipend support for one year to IPN Masters or Doctoral students.
  • Jeanne Timmins Costello Studentship provides $10,000 stipend support to Neuro graduate students (masters or doctoral level) to proceed with their research or to further their knowledge and research experience in the field of neurological diseases.
  • Harold and Audrey Fisher Brain Tumour Training Studentship provides $10,000 stipend support to two (2) Neuro graduate students (masters or doctoral level) conducting research directly related to brain tumours.
  • Christian Geada Brain Tumour Research Studentship provides $10,000 stipend support to a Neuro graduate student (masters or doctoral level) conducting research directly related to brain tumours.
  • C. Nance Common Neuroscience Award provides $400 to support Neuro doctoral students pursuing careers in neuroscience.
  • Joan and Warren Chippindale Outstanding Student Award awards $1,500 to recognize and award the highest-ranked Neuro MSc or PhD students.
  • Molson Neuro-Engineering Studentship provides $10,000 stipend support to support graduate students (masters or doctoral level) who are pursuing high-level work in neuroengineering.
  • Massabky Mary Foundation provides $400 stipend support for a student from the middle east.
